Carl Schnitker

Hi! My name is Carl! I am a Wilderness EMT, AMGA Certified Single Pitch Instructor, ACA Certified Whitewater Instructor, and AHA CPR Instructor. I moved to Silverton in 2020 to live and play in this incredible landscape. I joined the school immediately, and now I'm excited to take on the challenge of teaching middle school math and science while continuing to develop the Outdoor Leadership Program for high school students.

I’m passionate about inspiring curiosity and challenging students to be their best selves. What I love most about Silverton School is being part of a dedicated team that cares deeply about our work and strives for improvement every day.

In my free time, I explore the mountains by foot, bike, boat, and skis. I also volunteer as an EMT and Winter Response Team member with Silverton Medical Rescue's Mountain Rescue Team, and as an Instructor Trainer with Friends of the San Juans.
