Silverton School is a

21st Century Community Learning Center

As a small, rural, isolated community, Silverton School provides more than just school day opportunities and support. At Silverton School we help support families with out-of-school activities and services. Our transformative out-of-school programming closely aligns with the school day curriculum, social emotional learning, and pedagogical approaches. Out of school programming staff experience much of the same training and professional development as day school staff. Out of School programming includes activities such as before and after school programming, academic support, college and career planning and readiness, internships, evening SEL activities on fieldwork, participation in outdoor recreation competitions, and much more. This grant-funded program aims to improve students’ core academics, social emotional skills, and engagement with all families.

In spring of 2023, Silverton School received another round of grant funding over the next five years to help cover the costs of out-of-school programming through the 21st Century Community Learning Centers (21CCLC) federal grant. This grant provides funding and support for enrichment activities outside of normal school hours. We offer a comprehensive afterschool and summer program featuring fun and engaging activities that support learning, health, and inter- and intra-personal growth.
